I just finished working for the New Zealand Int’l Comedy Festival and it was a blast and I miss it so freaking much already. Nearly all of the comedians were ones I had never heard of.

Boy, was I uneducated. So, so many wonderful talents. American comedy is amazing as we are all aware but….you guys…there is so much more. I never knew. Look up NZ comedians Joseph Moore, Brendon Green, & Rose Matafeo. The UK sketch group Idiots of Ants. The charming and so freaking lovely UK stand-up Stuart Goldsmith, who was hands down the most appreciative comedian at the festival and who bought me (the freaking intern) alcohol as a thank you present and is just the funniest and coolest ever. The ladies of hilarious UK sketch/cabaret show Titty Bar Ha Ha. UK stand-up Markus Birdman who speaks the clearest on stage about how relationships feel out of just about anybody I’ve seen.

The States must learn about these people. And you must, MUST learn about UK stand-up James Acaster. Watch here. He was hands-down the sleeper hit of the festival and deserved it. He is only 28 and will be a big deal. But that’s not even the important part - he was just a cool guy to spend time with after shows getting drunk and talking about life shit.

I miss them all so much already. Now, do your part and GET EDUCATED.
